Freshman Democrat Congressman, Gil Cisneros, flipped a GOP house seat last year after pouring $9 million worth of lottery winnings into his campaign.

Since his election however, Cisneros has found himself embroiled in scandal after scandal that appears to have tanked his short-lived popularity in California’s Congressional District 39.

Real Clear Politics was first to break the news that recent polling shows Cisneros losing to an unamed Republican challenger 46% to 44% with %9 undecided.

Gil Cisneros is one of four freshman Democrats from Orange County that flipped seats from red to blue.  And just like Rep. Harley Rouda and Rep. Katie Porter, Cisneros ran as a moderate in order to appeal to Orange County voters.  However, these members now find themselves amongst Congressional Democratic colleagues that hold radical views on everything from impeachment of the President, to post-birth abortion, to open borders – just to name a few.

Next there was Rep. Cisneros’ refusal to condemn the anti-semitic rhetoric of his fellow Congressional Democrat Rep. Ilhan OMar, who ignited a controversy earlier this year with anti-semitic statements made about Israel and “the Jewish lobby”.

The pattern dates back to before Cisneros’ election, where on the 2018 campaign trail accusations of sexual harassment and other inappropriate behavior towards a Democrat female operative that went public.

We’ll have to see if the self-funding, lottery winner is prepared to write himself another $9,000,000 check to boost hist 2020 prospects, but one thing is for sure – they are not looking too promising at the moment.
