The Orange County District Attorney, Todd Spitzer, announced that a Huntington Beach man has been jailed for sexually assaulting multiple children. 26-year-old Miguel Angel Pineda was sentenced to one year in jail with five years probation after pleading guilty to a lewd and lascivious act on a child under 14.
“Children are the most vulnerable of victims,” Spitzer said in a statement. “They trust without question because they have no reason not to trust. But that trust can be manipulated by predators who use it to select and prey on the most innocent of victims.”
After his sentence, three more girls came forward to report being molested by Pineda after meeting him through an Orange County after-school program. According to the Orange County DA’s office, all of the girls’ allegations against Pineda occurred before his arrest for sexually assaulting multiple boys.
Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer has been tough on crime since taking office in January of 2019. Just earlier this month, Spitzer and the OC District Attorney’s office charged a Cypress man with multiple felonies for torturing, sexually assaulting, and abusing numerous children over nearly a year.
Spitzer’s efforts to keep dangerous criminals in jail, challenging Governor Newsom’s early-release program, has maintained safety for Orange County communities and families against violent sexual criminals and child molesters.
