Rampant Fire Spreading In Camp Pendleton Yielding Evacuation Orders

The brush fire started Wednesday, June 10 and grew quickly to 800 acres on the Marine Corps Base near Oceanside, California

On Wednesday morning around 10:30 the fire was reported on the military base, Camp Pendleton. 

With the fire moving quickly burning almost 150 acres in a two hour time frame, evacuation warnings were issued for surrounding neighborhoods, including the Oceanside Municipal Golf Course.

The fire is producing a cloud of smoke causing a smoke advisory from the Pollution Control District. 

The evacuation point has been located as El Camino High School in Oceanside.
